The Opportunity:
The Manager, Budget supports the Finance/Budget Director in the strategic planning and on-going measurement in achievement of the college/division's financial goals by developing and managing the financial activity for multiple departments and/or units within a college or division. This position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to Finance/Budget Analysts and other day-to-day operations within the Finance Business Center.
Responsibilities:
Provides supervisory support to the budget analyst team that manages a combined budget exceeding $200 million, to include E&G, C&G and Auxiliary operations.
Oversees day-to-day operations of the Finance Business Center with the support of the Finance/Budget Analysts. Supervises the process of financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial trend analysis.
Collaborates closely with Vice Presidents, Vice Provosts, Deans, and Directors to devise a strategy for multi-year financial plans.
Maintains an open channel of communication with the Finance/Budget Director to ensure adequate coaching and support for Finance/Budget Analysts and the overall success of the Finance Business Center.
Disseminates university updates to the Finance/Budget Analysts regarding current policies, practices, and procedures and ensures compliance with university policies.
Participates in strategic projects impacting the Finance Business Center from conception through implementation.
Serves as the backup to the Finance/Budget Director.
Prepares visual reports that reflect the college/division performance across various metrics and key performance indicators.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with financial forecasting, budget development, and financial reconciliations, preferably in Higher Education.
Financial management systems, such as Workday or similar ERP.
Familiarity with financial regulations and standards, especially those pertaining to academic institutions.
