Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Maintenance Specialist - Boca Raton, FL

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Independently oversee routine and emergency work requests related to maintenance and utility matters.

  • Collaborate weekly with Assistant Director of Facility Operations on repair matters such as plumbing, electrical fixtures, HVAC, carpentry, painting and other building related elements.

  • Possess expertise in multiple trades and comprehensive understanding of repair process.

  • Log and Manage work orders through designated system (Fitness EMS, FAMIS).

  • Daily Communicate with staff regarding special events needs.

  • Serve as a liaison between Campus Recreation and Facilities Management Staff.

  • Collaborate with supervisor to develop plans and budgets for special projects and renovations.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in related fields such as facility maintenance, electrical, plumbing or mechanical is required.

Salary:

$21.00 per hour

Monday - Friday 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. with some early mornings, nights and weekends as needed

Temporary positions are usually not eligible for benefits and retirement; however, they may be eligible for health insurance coverage depending on the average hours worked per week.
