Maintenance Mechanic S10, The Statler Hotel

Cornell University’s Statler Hotel has launched a search for an S10 Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities team.

   

Your role as a Maintenance Mechanic:

As a member of the School of Hotel Administration and Statler Hotel's Maintenance Department, you will be a vital contributor to ensuring all preventative, corrective, and planned maintenance activities for our buildings are executed properly. Among your job duties, you will:

  • Perform needed maintenance repairs and installations as per work orders.
  • Execute appropriate procedures and activities for planned preventative maintenance.
  • Perform renovation and project work to continue to elevate the integrity of our facilities.
  • Respond to guest service calls for maintenance assistance, troubleshoot, and take action to adjust, correct, or repair.
  • Monitor complex building HVAC systems daily to ensure proper functioning, diagnose problems and make needed adjustments.
  • Perform security duties and other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and formal training of one to two years in a vocational school, trade school or apprenticeship program.
  • Must be proficient in the use of power/hand tools and mechanical/electrical testing equipment.
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and/or HVAC.
  • Must have a valid NY State driver's license.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
