Shift
Must be able to work three, 12-hour shifts per week from 7am until 7:30pm; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
Job Summary
LPN’s on the 4-West Telemetry Unit at UK Good Samaritan Hospital provide intermediate care for medical surgical patients and adults requiring cardiac monitoring from a wide range of medical conditions.
The LPN model follows the Licensed Practical Nursing Scope of Practice deemed by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Under the direction of an RN, the primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: on-going assessments, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Furthermore, this environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes and the patient/ family experience.
