$5,000 Commitment Bonus Eligible | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (6 months and 12 months).

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an LPN to provide professional nursing care for patients at Duke Children’s and Internal Medicine North Durham in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, provide, and document professional nursing care in ambulatory settings, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures, under the supervision of the nurse manager, charge nurse or practice manager.
- Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs, administering survey tools, data collection, hearing and vision screens, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications.
- Completing procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, ear lavages, dental varnishing, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including EKGs and orthostatic blood pressures), reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family, bill for nursing procedures.
- Practice Development: Participates in various clinic committees to organize and improve patient care and serves as liaison between patients and providers to communicate needs and provide patient care.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team such as interpreters, clerical team, social work, Duke Well, and other members of the patients care team.
- Participates in quality/performance improvement programs and projects, product evaluation, outcomes evaluation studies and/or clinical research.
- Participate in the identification of clinical, operational, and safety related performance improvement opportunities.
- Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program is required.
- Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure and BLS Certification are required.
JOB HOURS:
Day Shift with no evenings or Duke Health scheduled holidays
