This posting will be utilized to fill multiple positions.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a specifically trained member of the inpatient care team. The LPN supports the on-going delivery of care and is an integral team member in the care for patients and families. The LPN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM) and indirectly under the direction of the RN.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program by the date of hire

• Temporary or Current Licensed Practical Nurse License in the State of Arkansas by the date of hire.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to accept and follow written and verbal instructions, ability to communicate following Guest Care guidelines.

• CPR certification (BCLS) completed during probationary period

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 2 years or more of nursing experience

Responsibilities:

The LPN provides direct patient care to assigned patients in Cardiovascular/Medical Specialties (F8). This 30-bed adult inpatient unit specializing in the care and treatment of patients belonging to the Cardiology, Cardiothoracic (CT) Surgery, and Vascular Surgery teams, as well as Medicine teams. Our inter-professional team works together to meet the needs of patients with heart and/or vascular conditions including patients recovering from open heart surgery transferred from the CVICU, lung surgery, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, vascular surgery, aneurysm repair, amputations, heart attack, arrhythmias, heart failure, and wide variety of other conditions. Patients on telemetry are remotely monitored, and portable bedside monitors are available for patients requiring closer observation. F8 embraces the mission and values of the UAMS Integrated Clinical Enterprise philosophy of patient care delivery.

Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
