Job Summary

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a temporary, one year, full-time Academic Year lecturer (non-tenure track) to start in the Fall of 2023 teaching on-campus undergraduate courses.

Essential Functions   

The Department seeks to hire a lecturer to teach up to six (6) undergraduate Psychology courses (3 per semester) for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Other Functions

• Work collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality and inclusiveness. 
• Work in partnership with colleagues within the CNS community and across the campus to support the Dean’s strategic priorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the College of Natural Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

• Masters Degree in Psychology.
• Expertise relevant to teaching one or more of the following courses: Introductory Psychology, Statistics, and/or Research Methods.
• Expertise relevant to teaching undergraduate courses in developmental psychology and/or clinical psychology.
• Evidence of teaching excellence.
• Experience working with diverse populations/students and promoting inclusivity and equity.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

• Ph.D. in Psychology.
• Skilled in teaching large classes, as well as small seminars.
• Candidates with expertise in diversity science or integrating diversity related content into psychology courses are especially encouraged to apply .

Salary Information

• Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications.
