Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.


Department Information
 

The Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design offers the Bachelor of Science in Interactive Design (IAD). Housed in the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the IAD program addresses the need for emerging competencies in user interface design and user experience design. Using an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach, the IAD degree develops the technical, theoretical, and creative skills needed to meet the demands of new, digitally-centered careers.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,500 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. The home of three Schools and eight Departments, the College offers more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs of study in both traditional and interdisciplinary fields. Job Summary
 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month Lecturer of Interactive Design faculty position in the Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design (TCID) beginning August 2024.


Responsibilities
 

Faculty at KSU teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. A commitment to excellence in teaching (90%) and service (10%) to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of 
all non-tenure track faculty members.

Lecturers in Interactive Design typically teach a 5/4 load and may teach a range of classes related to digital culture/media (TCID 2170) and technology (TCID 3400), and UI design, but ideal candidates for the position will have teaching experience in prototyping (Figma preferred) and visual interface design.
 


Required Qualifications
 
  • Terminal degree (PhD, MFA, MA, other), or the foreign equivalent, in interactive design, interaction design, user experience design, user interface design, multimedia design, product design, digital visual communication, or related field. Degree must be earned by start date.
  • A record of effective university teaching.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
 


Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Experience with prototyping software (Figma) 
  • Adobe Suite experience
  • Webflow or other webdev programs such as WordPress experience
