Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit | The Department of Management offers two undergraduate majors, in International Business, and Business Administration with concentrations in Business Studies (face-to-face and online), Human Resources, and Management; an online Master of Science in International Business; an online PhD in Business Administration (with concentrations in International Business, Organizational Behavior, and Strategy); and contributes to delivering the undergraduate business core and the MBA program. Our faculty members are very active in research and have published in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, Human Relations, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Leadership Quarterly, Management Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Strategic Management Journal, to name a few. The Bryan School of Business and Economics has 4,160 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 120 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments and programs. Approximately 43 percent of the school’s faculty are women, and 27.3 percent are from underrepresented ethnic groups (UREG); the School is striving to improve both percentages. The Bryan School graduates more Black/African American undergraduate business students, and the combination of Black/African American and Hispanic undergraduate business students, more than ANY university in North Carolina and has a strong placement rate and salary. Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, the Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors, and accolades and the faculty are active in research. For example, in 2022 its tenure-stream faculty members averaged 2.3 peer-reviewed journal articles each (16 in FT50 journals), plus 10 others in widely acknowledged A-level journals, in addition to nine books, 23 grants and contracts, and 118 editorial positions with peer reviewed journals. Position Summary | The Department of Management in the Bryan School of Business & Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations for one full-time opening in the Department of Management. The position will commence on August 1, 2024, at the rank of Lecturer (non-tenure-track). The position will be slated to teach four courses each semester, with responsibilities primarily in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior at the undergraduate level, and other teaching responsibilities more broadly related to Management’s instructional areas of International Business or Business Policy and Strategy. The selected candidate must be prepared to teach face-to-face and online courses, depending on the Department’s needs. Teaching online courses is a requirement, and service to the university and the academic and/or practicing professions is also expected. An interest and experience in virtual experiential work with students and hands-on student projects will be a strong plus in our consideration of candidates. |
