Purpose of Position
The Joseph W. Luter, III School of Business at Christopher Newport University invites applications for a Lecturer or Instructor in Data Analytics, effective August 2024. This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment with a nominal teaching load of 4-4. Applicants must be committed to creative and effective teaching and learning, demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and learning, and engage with the business community. Teaching responsibilities will include appropriate combinations of the following areas of knowledge: business data analytics and decision making, business statistics, operations management, and supply chain management
A master’s degree in data analytics, operations management, statistics, supply chain management or a related field is required for appointment at the rank of Instructor. A PhD in one of these fields is required for appointment at the rank of Lecturer. Preference will be given to candidates who have significant work experience in the field.
Departmental Information
The Luter School of Business at CNU is composed of 24 faculty and offers four majors (Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing). The Luter School’s AACSB-accredited business curriculum requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for entry and attracts some of the University’s best students. The business program offers opportunities for internships, executive mentorships, international experiences, volunteer work, and research collaboration with faculty.
