Job Summary:
Fairleigh Dickinson University Vancouver Campus offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs to almost 1000 mostly international students. We provide students with a personalized, supportive environment, small classes, and strong student academic support. FDUV is located in downtown Vancouver at two locations in Yaletown. FDUV programs are professionally oriented and build on the over 75-year history of FDU campuses in New Jersey. FDU is a private, not for profit university accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and holds the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designation for public and private institutions in B.C. that meet or exceed quality assurance standards set by the province of B.C.
The Lecturer of Strategic Management excels in teaching, especially project-based teaching and learning and supports student advising, engages in university service, ​has professional networks and experiences to ​support a project-based approach to education of professionals. The Lecturer participates in offering the capstone course to students in the Master of Administrative Science program. This is a renewable position in FDU’s School of Public and Global Affairs.
Responsibilities:
1. Teach ​in the FDUV Master of Administrative Sciences program. A full load is 8 classes per year ​with teaching release available in support of research.
2. Offer the capstone course in Strategic Management, among other courses in the field.
3. Support professional staff by advising and mentoring students.
4.Maintain academic or professional qualifications and currency in their discipline.
5. Participate in University service at various levels.
6. Build and maintain academic and professional networks ​to support teaching and student placement.
Required Qualifications:
1. Doctorate or other appropriate terminal degree preferred from an accredited university and in an area relevant to strategic management. teaching and research expertise. Masters, ABD, and other appropriate degrees will be considered.
2. Ability to teach, supported by graduate coursework and professional experience, in the field of strategic management.
3. Professional experience at a significant supervisory level in Strategic Management.
4. Teaching experience, preferably ​at the graduate level.
5. A commitment to reconciliation and gender equity.
6. A satisfactory background checks. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check. Proof of Canadian residency or work permit required.
Salary commensurate with qualifications. FDUV provides comprehensive benefits, support for professional development, and will reimburse relocation expenses for candidates from outside the lower mainland.
