Job Details | Lecturer in Anthropology The Department of Anthropology and Geography at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Anthropology. Area of specialization within the field of Anthropology is open, but the candidate must be able to teach a range of lower and upper-level courses in service to an innovative combined B.A. in Anthropology and Geography, and a minor in Anthropology. We specifically seek candidates able to teach multiple sections of an undergraduate introduction to cultural anthropology course, required upper-level anthropology courses in the B.A. program, and courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidates should have a doctoral or master’s degree in anthropology or a related discipline by the position start date of August 16, 2024, with a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to diversity, student learning, and inclusive pedagogy. The teaching load is 10 classes over the course of a 9-month academic year and includes limited opportunities for periodically teaching evening, weekend, study-abroad, summer, and distance-learning courses. The salary range is within CUPA averages. Required Qualifications: Must hold the appropriate terminal degree or meet the established alternative qualifications, and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching.
