About the Business Communication Program

The Business Communication Program (BCP) oversees the following courses in the Isenberg School of Management: Transitions, a first-year seminar; Career and Professional Development, a sophomore-year course; Business Communication, our junior year writing course; Transfer Connection, a professional development course for junior transfers, and Public Speaking, an elective. Job Description

The Isenberg School of Management is seeking two full time, non-tenure track instructional academic positions in the Business Communication Program (BCP), available beginning September 1, 2024. These positions are renewable, contingent on performance, and include full state benefits.

Essential Functions

  • Teach required Business Communication Program courses each semester.
  • Provide service to the School and Program, including serving in our Business Communication Center, attending required meetings and events, serving on committees, and participating in business communication course design and improvement.
  • Provide student feedback and grading in a timely manner.
  • Hold face-to-face weekly office hours and respond to School, University, and student course-related e-mails within 48 hours during the business week.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to remain current in best practices for teaching business communication and related disciplines.

Requirements

Successful applicants must be either professionally qualified (i.e., master's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution by August 24, 2024, and a noteworthy record of relevant professional communications experience) or academically qualified (i.e., doctoral degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution by August 24, 2024); applicants should also demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Minimum qualifications include 3+ years’ undergraduate teaching experience in professional communication (e.g., business or managerial communication, technical communication, career and professional development) in a college or university setting, as well as evidence of teaching excellence in professional communication courses.

Preferred qualifications include online teaching experience, graduate teaching experience (e.g., MBA and other master’s degree programs), and 3+ years’ professional work experience in a communication-intensive role.
