The Department of Strategic Communication at the University of Miami’s School of Communication is seeking applications for a full-time lecturer to teach in the advertising program, beginning in Fall 2024. The position entails teaching eight courses per year, including courses within this department and other academic units, such as graduate level courses on communication theory and methodology, and potential courses with other departments. This position calls for academic advising of undergraduate students, and requires a Ph.D. degree in advertising, communication, or a related field. A minimum of five years of professional experience in advertising media planning, buying, and strategy is required.
Successful candidates must have the ability to teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in advertising, such as advertising principles, advertising strategy development, and advertising research methods. In addition, we are seeking candidates who have expertise in one of the following areas of specialization: social media/big data analytics, social media strategy, mobile advertising, and SEO. The candidate must be passionate about working with students and must be willing and able to help students with academic advising and career guidance.
