Department Summary
Academic Technology sets the strategy for a portfolio of enterprise-wide products and platforms enabling the activities of academic stakeholders across the university. The Academic Technology team designs, develops, configures, enhances, optimizes, and maintains core enterprise technologies ensuring functionality end, quality, business value, user-experience, and digital accessibility of the products and platforms meet the expectations of the campus community. Academic Technology fuels ITS' cloud-first strategy by strategically reducing technical debt in partnership with other departments and teams leveraging cutting-edge techniques to accelerate releases using automation and application lifecycle management standards and tools.The Bruin Learn team conceives, configures, monitors, defines, tests, delivers, monitors, optimizes, and refines Bruin Learn products and application technologies, including but not limited to learning management systems, third party tools, and campus integrations. Thisdepartment also works to optimize user experience, address digital accessibility needs, and establish the highest standards of quality assurance and release management for UCLA's administrative applications and technologies.
Position Summary

The Learning Technologies Analyst will coordinate between the Bruin Learn CoE product team and its user community comprised of academic and administrative stakeholders to keep them informed of enhancements and advancements. Additionally, they will partner with product pods to take business requirements and help translate them into functional and technical presentations and public facing resources.

 

The Learning Technologies Analyst will conduct analyses, create process models, document design documents, and work with their product team to ensure the solutions developed meet the desired community needs via outreach. Using various analytical tools and methodologies, they will identify trends and opportunities that can drive innovation and efficiency in the Bruin Learn CoE. In addition, they will effectively engage the user community by developing strategic engagement resources such as short and long form communications, quick reference guides, self-help knowledge articles, website content, webinars, videos, and other artifacts in support of the user community. This role will also support the product team's delivery and sustainment of an excellent end-to-end customer experience. The Learning Technologies Analyst will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage educational technology tools, media and collaboration products. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.


Salary & Compensation
*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
  • Three years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, business analysis, product services, computer science, computer information systems, or related field. (Required)
  • Five or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, business analysis, product services, computer science, computer information systems. (Preferred)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred)
  • Understanding of instructional design theories and methodologies to support faculty in designing engaging and effective online courses within the Canvas environment. (Required)
  • Knowledge of OCM principles, methodologies, and tools to effectively manage organizational transitions and promote user adoption of new technologies like Canvas. (Required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. (Required)
  • Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required)
  • Strong organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects. Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices. (Required)
  • Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines. Able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and make decisions with integrity. (Required)

  • Special Conditions for Employment
    • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).

      The anticipated pay range for this position is $103,500 - $115,000, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
