Position Summary: 

Under the direction of the Sr. Storekeeper Supervisor, the Lead Storekeeper maintains even workflow, adjusting schedules to meet priorities, resolves issues/problems as they occur to maintain productivity. Duties include, but are not limited to, supplies receipt, stocking, order-taking & order-filling, distribution, delivery, and physical inventory counts.  Duties also include the inspection, and verification of supply orders.  Some data entry is also required and occasionally required to operate powered materiel handling equipment and drive delivery vans & trucks.  Major attention is given to providing excellent customer service by meeting customer requests and expectations.

Salary Range: 

 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $27.35             Midpoint     $31.89          Maximum   $36.43

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

Efficiently maintains accurate documentation (both hardcopy and computerized) as required for reporting, audit trail, and research purposes

Accurately takes customer supply orders

Appropriately and safely uses powered material handling equipment such as a forklift to palletize and move materials

Safely operates delivery vans, and trucks, etc. when required

Maintains the cleanliness and organization of assigned warehouse and work areas

Assists in preparation of staff schedule to pre-established staffing levels

Provides consultation to areas outside the department where work unit procedures are performed

Assists in the evaluation of staff performance within the unit

Oversees procedures for accurate and timely delivery of services

Oversees daily review and spot-check of work, verifying accuracy and completeness

Administers work unit policies and procedures as needed to ensure consistency with Medical Center practice

Functions as role model

Provides input for the hiring process in the work unit

Provides direction for personnel, prioritizing and facilitating workflow to ensure efficient delivery of services

Serves as a resource person to resolve problems as they occur in the work unit

Provides effective training to staff as needed

Accurately performs inventory stocking, issuing, distributing and delivery duties in a timely manner

Accurately conducts inventory as needed for stock replenishment

Quickly fills orders, packs and stages for delivery ensuring accuracy

Accurately conducts inventory cycle counts and participates in annual physical inventory

Accurately and efficiently processes returned goods

Accurately inspects and verifies orders, appropriately receiving the orders into the AMS System

Accurately tags supply orders with required delivery tickets

Effectively monitors and communicates stock levels as appropriate

Accurately and efficiently handles freight claims, quantity shortages, breakage and duplicate shipments

Efficiently locates and orders non-stock items & parts as required

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

 

Current State of California Driver's License

Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and a rotating schedule to meet operational needs

Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in English

Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations

Must be able to perform heavy manual tasks

Two years previous job-related/equivalent experience

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Knowledge of UC policies and procedures
