Lead Person- Electrician

• Must be able to perform the duties of lower grades;
• Assist the supervisor in assigning and monitoring the employees in the electrical shop;
• Layout work and train personnel in the electric shop;
• Must be able to run the electrical shop effectively in the supervisor’s absence;
• Estimate jobs and/or projects accurately;
• Order materials;
• Maintain accurate project reports for labor and materials;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school Diploma and 10 years of current electrical experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Must possess the strength and dexterity needed to perform the job and the physical ability to move equipment as necessary.
• Must adhere to operational safety rules, policies and procedures as deemed by the College/Department.
• Must be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills and ability to interact with building/occupants effectively.
• Must possess working knowledge of the electrical code;
• Must possess working knowledge of all types of light fixtures;
• Must possess working knowledge of all types of conduits and raceways;
• Must possess working knowledge of basic wiring for lights and power;
• Must possess working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Must possess working knowledge of basic electric test equipment.
• Must have a working knowledge of all materials and fasteners in accordance with the electrical code;
• Must be able to effectively provide direction to lower level staff.
