The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh is seeing a Laboratory Technician. The Laboratory Technician will perform genetics, protein chemistry and in vitro and in vivo treatment experiments on pathogenic gram-negative bacteria as part of the ongoing research.



Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.


Essential Functions 

This position requires a high level of mobility, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and basic computer skills.


Physical Effort 

This position requires that the applicant travel between laboratories, campus buildings, and to sit or stand at a laboratory bench for extended periods of time.
