Physical Requirements
Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders upto 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.
Shift
Primarily Day Shift. Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends may be required due to experimentation.
Job Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Catalina Velez-Ortega is looking for a motivated individual interested in performing biomedical research related to hearing sensitivity and deafness using animal models. Previous experience with animal handling, tissue dissection, and immunohistochemistry is desired. The individual should have high attention to detail, excellent record keeping and organizational skills, and basic knowledge of cellular/molecular biology and neuroscience.
