Job Summary:


Our laboratory is interested in understanding how cellular stressors that alter the mechanical function of heart cells (cardiomyocytes) lead to cardiac dysfunction and ultimately heart failure. To determine the impact of cellular stressor on the mechanical function of cardiomyocytes, our lab utilizes human induced stem cell – derived cardiomyocytes as our primary model system.
The successful applicant will be expected to be highly organized, able to speak fluent English, demonstrate the ability to generate experimental data, have clear writing and communication skills, and to be a team player. Personnel in this role will perform daily tissue culture maintenance and cell expansion, isolate RNA and protein, run qPCR and Western blot, and fabricate single-cell mechanical measurement platform. Additional responsibilities include to order lab items, image cells for mechanical studies, maintain cell culture bank, analyze and quantify cell mechanics data.

Skills /Knowledge/Abilities:


Basic computer and laboratory skills, English proficiency, being able to understand and apply both verbal and written directions.
