We are looking for a dynamic, innovative team member to serve as Laboratory Technician II for the Life and Earth Sciences Department at the Decatur campus. If you have the skills and enjoy working in this type of environment, you are encouraged to apply.

This position is anticipated to start in January 2024.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Prepare supplies and reagents for laboratory courses under the minimal supervision of the laboratory coordinator.
  • Set-up and take down labs.
  • Assist the lab coordinator to track and maintain supply and equipment inventory, order supplies, document lab preparation and safety protocols, & properly store, log, and dispose of waste.
  • Assist the lab coordinator in maintaining equipment.
  • Clean labs and the prep room.
  • Supervise and instruct student workers on proper lab procedures and job duties; Supervise and delegate assignments to student workers and lab techs.
  • Other related duties as assigned by lab coordinator or associate department chair.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other natural science and one year of laboratory experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
