Laboratory Billing and Compliance Program Manager (Medical Lab)

Provides management and leadership for day-to-day activities associated with UVA Health System laboratories Compliance Program. UVA Health System Compliance Manager has direct responsibility for billing and results compliance, billing workqueues, coding, reference lab results entry (CH only), test build compliance. Develops laboratory compliance education and ensures team members complete by expected timelines. Partners with Revenue Cycle, Finance, HIM, HIT, Compliance, and laboratories throughout the system. Performs laboratory test audits to support organization and regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrates and regularly monitors compliance with approved programs, budgets and fiscal activities.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements
  • Compiles, edits and reports on complex issues relating to Medical Center programs or activities. 
  • Serves as a primary resource providing guidance, direction and training to other personnel.
  • Manages team members
Position Compensation Range: $76,398.40 - $122,241.60 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree with completion of a NAACLS approved MLS/CLS/HTL/CT program preferred OR Bachelor’s in a science or business related field
Experience: 3 years of experience in laboratory science, laboratory compliance, preferred OR billing, finance, accounting or coding.
License/Certification: MT/MLS/HTL or categorical, ASCP or equivalent required OR Coding Certification or other related certification preferred, i.e. ADML, CBCS, or CHC. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20lbs.
