The Wharton Lab of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing is looking for a Laboratory Assistant for a full time position, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, no overtime. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Performs routine laboratory and general clerical tasks necessary for daily operation of laboratory.
  • Collects, prepares, cleans and stores glassware and other lab equipment.
  • Stocks and prepares media, reagents, chemical solutions and stains.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Sets up laboratory and research equipment as directed.
  • Assists Laboratory Director and Laboratory Manager with procedures, labeling, autoclave, sample transfer storage and tracking. 
  • Assists research and laboratory personnel with experiments and procedures, and port processing analyses. 
  • Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents.
  • Will perform phlebotomy duties.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Phlebotomy experience or willing to be training in phlebotomy for required duties. 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
