Job Summary

The Cadwell Lab at UCSF is seeking a part-time lab manager. The focus of the lab is understanding cell types and circuits of the human cerebral cortex, using both primary human tissues, human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)–derived cerebral organoid models, and mouse xenograft/xenotransplant models. Our team is comprised of electrophysiologists, molecular biologists, developmental neurobiologists, bioinformaticians and physician-scientists working together to advance our understanding of human brain circuits in health and disease. We strive to create an inclusive environment where all lab members are respected and able to realize their full potential.

We seek a highly motivated individual to take the lead on coordinating daily lab operations, lab management, and compliance. Prior experience with human organotypic slice culture, iPSC culture, electrophysiology, and stereotaxic injections in mice is preferred. Meticulous organizational skills, written and verbal communication, independent trouble-shooting and sound decision-making are essential characteristics for this position.

Depending on the interests and abilities of the applicant, the position could evolve into a full-time position that includes an independent or collaborative research project component. The successful applicant will receive direct mentorship and supervision from Dr. Cathryn Cadwell to ensure specific laboratory responsibilities are designed to achieve long-term career goals.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
