Grand Canyon University's College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is launching an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing this fall. We an opening for a Lab/SIM Coordinator at our site in St. Louis, MO with a start date of July 1, 2024. This position is integral to delivery of partner university lab and simulation experiences for nursing students.  This position will report to the Director, Nursing Academic Services (DNS).

Target Hire: July 1

Site Location: 721 Emerson Road, St. Louis MO

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm

What you will do:

  • Provide simulation onboarding activities for lab/Sim equipment to all faculty/instructors working in the lab

  • Verify competency in lab/Sim equipment operations for all individuals using the equipment annually

  • Serve as resource for all instructors for troubleshooting all technical problems

  • Maintain policy and procedure manual keeping current with equipment/mannequin information and instructions

  • Manage lab supplies by monitoring par levels, submitting regular supply orders, and maintaining inventory in conjunction with DNS

  • Collaborate on capital budget recommendations for lab/Sim equipment

  • Document all cleaning and maintenance activities of lab/Sim equipment by required dates

  • Create and maintain life-cycle maintenance in collaboration with vendors for the simulators, software, hardware and audiovisual equipment

  • Actively participate in professional organizations related to healthcare simulation

What you need:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare field

  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist (CHSOS) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)  preferred

  • Two or more years of experience working with simulation in an educational institution or equivalent setting preferred

  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to meet the needs of internal clients

  • Ability to influence within the context of having accountability but not authority

  • Data-driven/evidence-based decision-making skills

  • Self-directed with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities

  • Commitment to excellence in quality simulation experience

  • Travel will be required for training/educational purposes
