Job Summary

Under direct supervision of the Lab Manager, provide animal care. Perform sample collection and processing, RNA/DNA extraction, prepare materials for necropsies and sample collection. Provide administrative support to lab manager, students and post-doctoral scholars.

 

THIS POSITION ENDS 4 MONTHS FROM DATE OF HIRE WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Carry 10-15 lbs. weight of water samples.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

Minimum Education/Experience:

 

College level coursework in animal sciences, biology, genetics or related fields. 
Experience working in laboratory and animal research settings.
Experience in animal care.

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

 

Excellent communication skills.
Good organizational skills.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Preferred Education/Experience:   

 

Experience in lab work, molecular biology and microbiology.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

 

Animal necropsies and care.
