Salary/Pay Range : $15,000. **Workload percentage will be determined upon appointment. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary

The Kraemer Family Endowed Professorship of Aging Studies is a 5-year appointment, which is renewable upon successful review. It will be rewarded to a member of the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences Psychology faculty who has an established pattern of excellence in their program of research and scholarship. The endowed professor must be faculty with expertise in aging studies, preferably with tenure from the Psychology Department at UCCS, and is expected to contribute to the research, teaching and service missions of the College and the Gerontology Center and the UCCS Aging Center. The position will advance the discovery, organization, transmission and/or application of knowledge to enhance the quality of life for older adults and their families through excellence in psychological training, services, research, and integrated care partnerships.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and grow a program of research supported by external funding and one that is recognized nationally.
  • Demonstrate leadership in forming inter-professional collaborations across research, teaching and service missions of the college and the Gerontology Center and the UCCS Aging Center.
  • Give an annual community lecture based upon the theme of 'aging well'. The lecture should be cross promoted in the community to encourage multi-generational participation.
  • Actively engage in our teaching mission.
  • Build and maintain community partnerships.
  • Mentor colleagues and students in developing and implementing their research, clinical and scholarly activities.
  • Develop a five-year plan that incorporates measurable outcomes addressing research, teaching and service.
  •  Develop a five-year plan for fiscal requests to support the research, teaching and service initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Experience in Aging Studies.
  • Psychology faculty in the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has received tenure at UCCS.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employees are occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
