We are looking for a Java Web Application Developer to work with our Information Technology department. You will provide the technical skills required to analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to design solutions to automate or facilitate various education, research, and business processes. This employee will ultimately perform Full-Stack development and support for web applications of routine to moderate complexity and scope with regular supervision. You should have at least a degree in computer science or four years of information technology experience, plus at least some familiarity with Java-based web applications. It would also help if you know or use other tools such as CSS, HTML coding, and SQL.
This role currently does not allow us to sponsor candidates requiring H1B visas. Applicants should also either reside in or plan to relocate to the state of Texas. This may require someone to work a blend of on-site and remote duties.

Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Develop and implement complex Java applications, application databases, and interactive Web interfaces according to design specifications and departmental standards; establish test plans and data; validate and verify functions in applications; and prepare necessary forms and documentation for implementation.
2. Interview clients/users for problem definition and analyze user needs, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
3. Writes and maintains technical documentation for application requirements, coding standards, and operational procedures.
4. Maintains, revises, and updates current application code or configuration, including troubleshooting, fixing bugs, and improving functionality.
5. Resolves problems that arise with existing production applications.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Experience with computer hardware, software, and programming.
Excellent technical and general communication skills, both oral and written.
Experience with Web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or related experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
None, but you should be familiar with Java. Ideally, you will have used the language to develop a web application in your job or during your degree requirements and courses.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
