Job Description:

The Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP) at the University of Florida is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to coordinate and manage the development of web applications in our state-wide external quality review project (Texas EQRO). This individual will work in a team setting maintaining existing applications as well as working with Team Leaders to develop new features. This individual will communicate with faculty and staff as well as other internal and external constituencies.

Duties Include:

Project Management Lead in IT and portal project planning
Plan and coordinate IT projects, including schedules, executing and monitoring project tasks, managing expectations, and other related activities including forecasting and budgeting. Build, monitor and adjust plans with minimal assistance. Prioritize tasks according to department and project specific strategic objectives.
Technical Leadership
Design, establish and manage informatics projects to support contract deliverables and stakeholder engagement. Create and execute these special projects, meet timelines and report on project deliverables to customers and leadership. Manage resources and leverage technologies to achieve the goals and objectives for all new and ongoing operations. Hire, train and manage staff as needed to ensure successful implementation. Collaborate with UF, AHC-IT and application vendors to maintain working systems and resolve technical issues.
Providing advanced maintenance and support of IT systems and applications
Maintain day-to-day processes, such as investigating systems and application failures or events, and maintain access control systems with minimal adverse effects to customers and IT. Resolve issues timely and thoroughly. Determine root causes of issues and follow up on all matters. Seek, recommend, and implement opportunities for process improvements. Working with internal/external customers and as well as vendors to design and implement software solutions based on provided specifications throughout its development life cycle. This includes meeting with customers to analyze the requirements. Provide solution architecture. Plan, distribute and manage execution of tasks to ensure timely completion. Seek, recommend
Supervision /Staff management
Provide day-to-day supervision, leadership and mentoring of subordinate staff members in the course of daily business. Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees. Plan and coordinate project schedules and related activities. Participate in planning and administration of departmental and project budgets. Resolve complex problems escalated by staff members.
Other Duties as Assigned
This position is responsible for a variety of projects and staff needed to accomplish long-term goals. Communicate and interact with peers and customers. Produce documentation. Compose written materials in a clear and concise manner appropriate for intended audiences. This job may include a variety of tasks that are performed as needed.


Expected Salary:

$110,000 - $125,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree and 3 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree and six years of web application development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of standard technologies in a broad range of computer-related topics, including operating systems, listservs, web hosting, web design, graphic design, database operations, server hardware and software. Proficiency with >NET framework, and modern front end frameworks such as Angular and React.

Demonstrated technical aptitude to learn technically involved knowledge content. Ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, and external vendors and provide training and technical support. Ability to work well as a team member and to work independently on projects.
