Adler University is a value-centered and growing institution that is seeking an International Admissions Advisor to join the Office of Admissions. This position reports to the Director of Admissions and Program Innovation, assisting with all aspects of the admissions and recruitment process. As a member of the Admissions team at the Vancouver Campus, this position will be responsible for meeting enrollment goals through conversion of leads and applicants and maintaining the student experience throughout the application process. The Advisor is also responsible for maintaining accurate application and inquiry records via accurate and timely data input into the student database student management systems.
The primary responsibilities of the Advisor include documenting responses to admissions inquiries via phone and email, documenting and responding to applicants regarding their application and materials submitted, proactive follow-up with applicants and inquiries on a regular basis, and maintaining a positive student experience. Additionally, the Advisor will represent Adler University at on-campus and online events, as well as off-campus recruiting events, conduct campus tours, and advise applicants. The Advisor will organize admissions interviews and related activities to support the application evaluation process.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary contact person for applicants and support them through the admissions process.
- Review all application materials, review files for required prerequisites, review documents for content and writing quality. Prepare files for Admissions Committee review and coordinate with faculty members.
- Advise students regarding career or vocational matters including academic history and résumé preparation, admissions interview skills, and potential career exploration after graduation.
- Maintain regular, documented contact with all applicants and prospective students.
- Coordinate admissions interviews with faculty members.
- Organize and attend off-campus recruitment activities to provide academic and admissions information regarding the University to prospective students and educational professionals.
- Coordinate and conduct on-campus admissions events, give presentations, facilitate team meetings when required and conduct Campus tours.
- Coordinate counselling skills workshops.
- Answer questions about the University’s programs, admissions requirements, policies and procedures, tuition and finances, housing and relocation information.
- Coordinate and participate in student orientation.
- Process incoming student applications, acceptance paperwork, and tuition deposits.
- Consult with faculty and other departments on various issues/concerns regarding programs, student experiences, and admissions.
- Conduct course registration advising and onboarding support for newly admitted students such as course and program selection, timetables, scheduling and relocation/housing.
- Execute written and verbal correspondence to applicants and admissions inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in post-secondary admissions, with an understanding of the graduate student market.
- Experience advising international students regarding study permits.
- Ability to travel to off-campus events as needed. These events require the ability to physically transport materials, set-up admissions display, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Student management database experience preferred.

- Strong computer skills with standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Work Schedule:
Primarily Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Expected Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 CAD
Work Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs’ functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
