Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | Meet with project managers and University customers to establish furniture design criteria and budget, interior finish criteria and budget, project programming, space planning and specification of furniture. Confirm project scope with respect to furniture and interior finish requirements of capital projects. Review finish selections of consultants on projects. Verify working budget and modify work scope as needed with respect to budget. Work collaboratively with outside consultants on large and/or complex capital projects to select appropriate furniture and finishes that meet the University standards for quality and cost. |

Minimum Qualifications | Master’s degree in related field and 4 years related experience, or Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from a CIDA-accredited program and 6 years of experience in renovation and new construction projects for commercial and/or institutional project types. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office computer programs is required. Driver’s license required. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s or Bachelor of Science and minimum 15 years of experience in renovation and new construction projects for commercial and/or institutional project types. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and PeopleSoft software preferred. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Applicable knowledge of building codes (International Building Codes) and accessible design (ICC-ANSI A117.1) and the Americans with Disability Act. Production of architectural construction documents / interior design projects with samples of work. |
