The Chemistry Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a full-time Instrumentation Specialist beginning July 1, 2024. We seek highly-qualified candidates who have extensive hands-on experience with a wide-range of instrumentation (MS, LC/GC/HPLC, NMR, UV-VIS, IR, fluorescence, DSC/TGA, AA, PXRD, and other common laboratory equipment) to support instructional and research activities in a small college setting.

Responsibilities include regular maintenance and calibration, operation and fault troubleshooting, software/hardware updating, maintaining computer networks, and working with vendors. The successful candidate will also demonstrate interest and proficiency in communicating instrument protocols and in training users along with using their expertise to suggest sample collection techniques, analytical experimental designs, method development strategies, and data interpretation methods.
