Job Summary:

The Department of Modern Languages has an opening for a limited term, part-time (.87 FTE) Instructor of French for the 24-25 academic year.     

This position is non-tenure track.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Teach four courses of upper- and lower-division French each semester (26 credit hours per year).

Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

Minimum Qualifications:

        Ph.D. in French and Francophone Literature

Preferred Qualifications:

        Experience teaching upper- and lower-division French courses at the University level

        Experience teaching online and/or HyFlex courses

        Evidence of Excellence in Teaching

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

        Ability to teach online and on-campus French language and culture courses

        Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

        Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

        Outstanding customer service skills.

        Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring rate for this position has been established at $1,559 per credit hour (lower division), $1,645 per credit hour (upper division), or $1,808 per credit hour (graduate level). 

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
