Position Overview
Marquette University Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures is looking for a per-course instructor of Chinese to teach in Chinese and English, lower- and/or upper- division in the Fall of 2024, with a possibility of renewal.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach 1 or 2 courses in English or Chinese, lower- or upper-division. Attend to students’ needs and provide regular course assessment. Be available to work together with the full-time Chinese faculty member. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the course(s), including course preparation from a draft that will be provided; grading exams and papers. Must maintain a minimum of 1 office hour per course each week.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven experience in teaching Chinese language and cultures in US academic settings is preferred.
