Position Summary
The Department of Psychology invites candidates for a full-time Instructor position within the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. This non-tenure track full-time faculty position will have a 5-5 teaching load in Psychology.
In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, service, and professional activities as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Teach courses in Psychology consistent with the needs of the department.
  • Participate in curriculum development.
  • Advise students and provide individual help to students during weekly office hours.
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
  • Comply with UIW Faculty Handbook processes and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Effective instructional delivery.
  • Proficient in use of instructional technology.
  • Ability to actively engage students in the learning process.
  • Proficient in psychological science and related fields;
  • Ability to conduct respectful relationships with students both in and outside the classroom.
  • Ability to work collegially and productively within the university community.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology or Psy.D.
Required Work Experience
Evidence of successful teaching experience in Psychology at the undergraduate level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 (two) years of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level with documentation of student evaluations.
  • Candidates with interest or training in teaching statistics and research method and courses based on the department need.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
  • Experience and training in teaching online using a learning management system.
  • Experience teaching diverse student populations.
  • Teaching, or service reflecting values of social/racial justice and/or Catholic social teachings.
  • Ph.D. in Psychology or Psy.D.
