Job Summary
The Instructor of Economics will have an initial assignment that may include microeconomics, macroeconomics, and upper-level economics courses, at both undergraduate and graduate levels, course and/or curriculum development, involvement in department, college, and university committees/initiatives, and other assigned duties. Instructors should display a commitment to professional development in economics through active participation in various professional conferences and continuing education opportunities.

Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Teach four (4) classes per semester.
- Conduct scholarly work or engage in professional activities, consistent with the LCOB guidelines for faculty classification as Scholarly Academic, Practice Academic, Scholarly Practitioner, or Instructional Practitioner.
- Engage in service activities as required.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Chair.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Economics or graduate degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in economics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience.
- Relevant business experience.
- Ph.D. in Economics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning and university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the university in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Continued scholarship and service to the department, college, university, and community.

Appointment will be made on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available August 2024.
