      Position Description:

      The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Biology seeks applicants for a two-year term position as an Instructor of Biology, beginning August 2024. This position's teaching assignment will contribute to the Department of Biology's support of the UNI Nursing program through lecture or lab assignments in Anatomy & Physiology or Pathophysiology, and departmental teaching responsibilities will include assignments from among courses in introductory majors biology and general-education biology. The standard teaching load in the Department is 12 total classroom/lab contact hours per week.

      Education Requirements:

      Master's degree in biology required. A professional degree (MSN, MD, DO, DC, DVM, PT, OT) or other advanced clinical degrees by nationally accredited institutions may be accepted as fulfilling the degree requirements if the candidate's undergraduate degree is in biology or a closely related scientific discipline.

      Required Qualifications:

      Expertise to contribute to both the Department of Biology and the UNI Nursing program through lecture and lab assignments in introductory and non-majors biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pathophysiology required.

      Desirable Qualifications:

      Prior teaching experience in courses relevant to this position at the university level preferred.
