Job Summary: The Department of English is seeking a full-time instructor with demonstrated experience teaching first-year composition and other general education courses. The candidate will teach both face-to-face and online courses, following composition program guidelines regarding philosophy and curricular goals. Department instructors participate in mentoring graduate teaching assistants and other service activities. Successful applicants will join a vibrant community committed to professional development, curricular design, and student-centered teaching. Competitive candidates will have a background in contemporary pedagogies. Instructors teach four courses per semester.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
Position Qualifications: A Master’s degree in English or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience teaching first-year composition and other writing-intensive courses in general education. Knowledge of contemporary best practices in teaching composition. Demonstrated facility with integrating technology into teaching practice, such as the use of ePortfolios and an interactive, customizable etextbook.
