About the Position: 

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) is one of eight colleges at Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) and contains five departments. The college offers through its departments and programs, baccalaureate degrees in all disciplines and master's degrees in biological science, chemistry, geology, physics, and mathematics. We seek an exceptional individual to join the Physics department as the Instructional Support Technician III. Provides technical support to instructors and students in lower and upper division Physics and Astronomy laboratory courses including labs in Mechanics, Electricity, Optics, Modern Physics, Astronomy, and Advanced Upper Division Labs. Purchase, set up, calibrate, maintain, and repair Physics and Astronomy laboratory equipment. Plan, acquire, and distribute/deploy laboratory materials and equipment. Develop schedules for routine maintenance that minimizes downtime of equipment used in the Physics and Astronomy labs. Work with faculty and CSUF Environmental Health and Safety to assist in the development of standard operating procedures and ensuring compliance with appropriate safety and security procedures. Collaborate with faculty in the development of new or updated instructional offerings dependent on materials, supplies, and equipment support; assist or solve problems related to laboratory materials substitutions, costs, or new equipment acquisition. Maintain laboratory-use and safety records, prepare reports, plans, and schedules for laboratory-related activities; coordinate a variety of technical support activities involving services provided by others such as technical equipment repair. Purchase, maintain, repair computers and tablets for Physics and Astronomy laboratory as needed. Other duties as assigned.
