Position Summary Information
General Information | The Instructional Equipment & Applications Specialist, Sr. provides technical support services related to the use of audio-visual, media control, and computer equipment in university classroom and lab facilities to meet the instructional, research, and student experience efforts of James Madison University. These services include planning, programming, networking, installation, and maintenance of high-quality educational technology in classrooms. Specific to this position is maintaining computer-based inventory records and oversight of the departmental equipment inventory. Duties and Responsibilities | Install, configure and test educational, audio-visual, computer, and multi-media technologies. Orient faculty to classroom presentation systems. Provide support for installed educational technologies. Maintain computer-based inventory records and oversee the storage of inventory. |
Qualifications | Considerable knowledge of audio-visual system integration, audio-visual equipment, media control equipment, and computer projection systems. High-level organizational and logistics skills, inventory software system experience, and experience with RFID tagging and tracking. Articulated ability to help foster an inclusive and equitable work environment. |
