Instructional Designer

Job Summary

 

As an Instructional Designer for Purdue’s Veterinary College, you will provide instructional design and educational technology support for faculty, staff, and students. This support includes LMS training and support, managing assessment software, developing instructional materials and eLearning modules, and consulting faculty on instructional design best practices. The designer will work closely with instructors to develop and define learning objectives, create interactive tools to aid learning, and design/redesign content to optimize learning. The designer will also participate in faculty teaching development presentations and curriculum development projects. This position is part of the Veterinary Education Support Team for the college, which is comprised of another Instructional Designer and the PVM Student Success/Learning Specialist. This is an on-site position.

 

Required:

 

  • BA/BS Degree in instructional design, educational technology, or relevant field. 
  • 2 years’ experience with instructional technology or information technology to fulfill a variety of instructional needs. In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use one or more instructional tools (e.g., LMS, ExamSoft, Articulate 360).
  • Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for teaching and learning, including but not limited to, multimedia development, learning management systems, online collaborative tools, and mobile solutions for education.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Microsoft Office tools including Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Video editing software (e.g., Camtasia or Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Higher Education experience
