Instructional Design Associate - Student Service

Job Summary

We seek a highly organized and motivated individual to help support project tracking and data collection associated with our online course developments. Working closely with the lead instructional designer, the ideal candidate will assist data collection, survey dissemination, and analysis. They might also assist with other organizational, operational, and instructional design tasks. In addition to valuable experience supporting data collection, you will build project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Responsibilities
  • Use project management data to prepare survey lists
  • Disseminate surveys
  • Basic data analysis
  • Support the lead instructional designer by contributing to tasks such as:
    • Gathering and cleaning data
    • Creating and organizing instructional content (images, text, video, etc.)
    • Applying styles and templates to modules within an LMS (Brightspace)

Required Skills

    • Organizational and project tracking skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Eager to learn:
      • Survey distribution in Qualtrics
      • Statistical or database software
      • Content creation in an LMS (Brightspace)
  • Communication
    • Ability to follow instructions and learn from demonstration
    • Comfortable with feedback and iteration
    • Initiative in proposing solutions

Preferred
  • Data analysis experience
  • HTML/CSS knowledge
  • Interest in online teaching and learning
  • Familiarity with programming (Python)

Work Conditions
  • Hours: 10 hours/week. Working hours are flexible between 9am to 5pm on weekdays, with some recurring weekly meetings.
  • Work can be completed on a personal computer or on a campus computer. Will need to attend meetings periodically with a webcam and microphone.
  • The position is for the Spring 2024 semester. The position is open for renewal with positive performance. Preference is given to those who can continue working in the summer and future semesters.
