Brief Summary of Work for this position:


The Institutional Effectiveness Research Analyst position, using multiple instruments and methodologies, will assist with assessment, evaluation, and research functions that support institutional effectiveness (IE) and university accreditation. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Institutional Effectiveness. The successful candidate will be part of an institutional effectiveness (IE) team, supporting university planning, assessment, evaluation, and accreditation activities.
Main responsibilities include:
  • Project planning of university survey and course evaluation administrations
  • Designs research strategies and gains stakeholder buy-in in preparation of survey deployment
  • Designs, pilots, and continuously improves internal surveys that support Faculty Senate and university initiatives
  • Conduct sampling of populations, using various statistical techniques
  • Clean and transform data for analysis
  • Develop analysis, reports, and presentations appropriate for the intended audience
  • Develop and deliver training to support IE-related initiatives
  • Serve as university administrator for the university's course evaluation solution
  • Serve as consultant for design, development and reporting of digital surveys
  • Documents research methodology for various survey deployments and research studies
  • Respond to administration, faculty, and staff requests

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Systems or related field, and two years of related training or experience, required.
  • Background in survey design, analysis, and various quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Ability to gather and interpret data in order to create reports using charts, graphs, statistical applications, and infographics, translating data into easy-to-understand formats, with close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information communicated.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and SPSS or similar statistical analysis software.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and data reporting & visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop presentations from diverse data sources.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience :

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in social sciences, higher education, evaluation, and/or related fields.
  • Extensive background using various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and SPSS or similar statistical analysis software.
  • Higher Education Experience with any of the following: University Course Evaluation Solutions, Ellucian Banner, Qualtrics, Tableau, SQL, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
