Job Summary:

CU Innovations is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Innovations Project Manager. The Innovations Project Manager will serve as an internal primary point of contact and coordinator across the full project team as a client key point of contact on contract and deliverables. The Innovations Project Manager will work collaboratively with Innovators, Business Development, Licensing and Ventures, and industry partners to manage project milestones and timelines, and ensure work teams are appropriately connected to project tasks. 

In addition to the aforementioned duties, the Innovations Project Manager will also lead multiple cross-functional teams to execute clinical research studies that evaluate whether new treatments, such as digital health applications or medical devices, are safe and effective.  This role will serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for the clinical research project team at CU Innovations and will act as the key point of contact for external partners on contracts and deliverables.  The Innovations Project Manager will work collaboratively with innovators, the Director of Business Development, and the clinical research projects team to manage project budgets and ensure resources are appropriately allocated to project tasks

The ideal candidate for this role must be a results-driven, detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of clinical research processes, regulatory compliance, and effective and strong communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, implement and build project plans through proven project management tools while ensuring scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met.
  • Maintain a detailed and accurate project tracker that is available to all team members, including team calendars of meetings, notes, supporting materials and other items relevant to the project.
  • Serve as lead for meetings, including scheduling meetings, distributing meeting invites, developing agendas, leading discussions, distributing summaries and actions items, providing necessary follow-up and tracking of tasks.
  • Triage and prioritize information and questions flowing to, across and out from the team.
  • Leverage creative problem-solving skills to ensure that project team, including subcontractors, stays connected and updated on team & client activities and developments.
  • Identify and implement ways to improve and streamline internal processes, including developing new internal or programmatic process policies as needed.
  • Prepare client reporting deliverables (e.g. monthly and end of phase reports, requested documentation, etc.).
  • Support the selection and enrollment process for clinical research study subjects, including help in determining how many people will participate and criteria for involvement.
  • Support the evaluation of research data, including recording and reporting on outcomes & findings.
  • Partner with physicians, other clinicians, and administrative leaders to define project scope, timetables, goals, and tactics to build an overall project plan with defined accountabilities.
  • Monitor and document project progress, addressing plan deviations with Executive Sponsor(s), project champion, and team members to re-align team efforts with the plan or to adjust the formal plan where necessary to acknowledge unanticipated issues.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in project management, business administration, healthcare administration or another related field. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Four or more years of experience in project management, for delivering assigned projects within time, scope, and cost. 

Condition of Employment:

  • CU Innovations is seeking to fill this role as 0.75 FTE (Part-Time) – 1.00 FTE (Full-Time).

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A master’s degree (or other advanced degree) from an accredited institution in project management, clinical research management, business administration, healthcare administration or another related field
  • Six or more years of experience in project management, for delivering assigned projects within time, scope, and cost.
  • Experience working with a CRM and project management tools.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry or with clinical trials management.
  • Project Management certification (PMP preferred).

  • Ability to develop relationships with a team and clients, and to think creatively about achieving balance between needs of a team and expectations of clients.
  • Ability to track work across multiple projects.
  • Experience in risk mitigation and issue resolution, including proactively identifying and mitigating risks and resolve/document issues in real-time.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range for this position has been established as *$68,463-$79,359 (*salary range reflects a 1.00 FTE position ).

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
