The Mansfield Center Administration invites applications for the Information Technology and Systems Manager position to join them in fostering globally minded leaders of integrity through a variety of international and domestic civic engagement programs.

The individual in this position will serve as the information technology and systems manager for the Mansfield Center and will be responsible for researching, analyzing, recommending, planning, maintaining, and implementing existing and new technologies and information systems, and resolving complex problems. They will work closely with the departmental leadership team and UM IT to identify technological needs to expand programs, outreach, and development opportunities. This position will advise the leadership team on the creation and implementation of department operating procedures and practices in response to changes in internal structure and institutional requirements. They will develop a departmental SharePoint infrastructure and manage the migration of departmental files to SharePoint, while also assisting employees with migrating their individual files to OneDrive. They will participate in strategic planning while considering short and long-term objectives within developed budgets, technical, logistical, and other constraints. This position will organize and integrate information systems in accordance with UM and federal guidelines and policies to improve business processes and enhance the department’s strategic advantage. They will manage the acquisition and utilization of information technology and will provide day to day technical support and service to departmental personnel while working closely with UM IT to procure and maintain departmental hardware and software. This position will develop, execute, and manage training sessions for departmental personnel and quickly remedy IT based issues as they arise daily.

Position Details

  • Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.
  • Salary for this position is $52,000 - $54,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding and ability to integrate all systems including operating systems, applications, network, and databases, as well as knowledge of cloud technology.
  • Ability to understand operational and institutional requirements and goals and translate those into functional business solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new technologies.
  • Ability to fully and effectively document implementations according to department operating procedures, UM and State of Montana policies, and best practice.
  • High capacity to organize, prioritize, pay attention to detail, solve problems, and make decisions with almost complete autonomy and with proper treatment of confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to facilitate awareness of and training on existing and new technical issues.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to conduct research, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including internal personnel, UM partners, external partners, and legal professionals.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service, be service-oriented, forward-thinking, and innovative.
  • Ability to utilize and troubleshoot standard office, technical tools, operating systems, and client devices.
  • Skilled in providing technical support to aid employees in fulfilling their roles and job duties.
  • Experience administering software systems, including the ability to configure, manage security permissions, setup integrations, and test.
  • Experience developing technical support materials and system documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in technology field (MIS, Cybersecurity, Business Management, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Four years of experience with data and systems analytics, cybersecurity, application development, infrastructure management, technology and design, and/or project management.
  • Familiarity working in Higher Education environment.
