Position Highlights This position is for a .50 FTE (Part-Time 20hrs per week with full benefits) entry level Information Security Analyst. Incumbent will serve as a member of the Security Operation Center team within the larger Information Security Office. They will be expected to work with other analysts, engineers, interns, and students as well as the campus community, detecting, analyzing, and reporting on potential malicious activity. High standards of customer service, trustworthiness, and commitment are desired alongside solid technical skills as we work to maintain and improve the security stance of the university.

This position allows for in state (AZ) remote work.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Triage and Distribution of Incidents, Events, and Communications
  • Phishing Response Activities
  • Research and Report Threat Intelligence
  • SIEM Dashboard Creation, Improvement, and Analysis
  • Assist in onboarding and training SOC Interns and Student Workers 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent education AND 1 year of relevant
    experience in the Information Security field.
  • OR any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year working in a security operations center with knowledge or experience in threat monitoring, and incident management.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Hands on experience working with security information and event management tools.
