Position Summary:
Responsible for imaging information systems development and maintenance, which may include web-site, interface, clinical applications, software support and/or development. Conduct systems project planning, project design, documentation, training and installation. Coordination of project implementation with vendors associated with specific products. Manages Hospital’s confidential information such as employee information, performance management, legal and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.

Detailed responsibilities:
* SYSTEMS - Coordinate the analysis of data gathering and consider all available solutions or alternate solutions defining and proposing recommendations for implementation of application system and inter-system communications enhancements
* COORDINATION - Coordinate all new system installs and system upgrades from a systems perspective
* NEEDS ANALYSIS - Communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel to understand and define user needs, gather and analyze data and recommend solutions
* PROJECTS - Provide support, maintenance and administration for assigned IT projects. Prepare and present status reports on assigned projects
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* PROJECTS - Head small to medium sized project teams coordinating progress from start to completion
* SYSTEMS ANALYSIS - Manage and coordinate IT activities and operations within Radiology to include the design and monitoring of various support systems
* SYSTEM ANALYSIS – Assist and guide Systems Analysts in the preparation and implementation of system analyses on existing imaging systems based on features in administrative and clinical information systems
* MANUALS – Design and maintain training manuals on the operation and use of various Imaging Information Systems; troubleshoot various system problems and respond to inquiries
* TRAINING – Coordinate training of Informatics, IT and Hospitals personnel in new applications and changes to systems as applicable, including appropriate staff on all projects requiring training on existing or new systems
* SYSTEMS – Understand and maintain knowledge of all imaging information, software, hardware interfaces, and operating systems or those specifically assigned. Assist with system maintenance and modification as needed
* LIAISON – Serve as a liaison for assigned area; coordinate activities in collaboration with other staff, divisions, departments and organizations; may chair steering committees
* UPGRADES – Coordinate the installation of application upgrades
* DESIGN - Design and implement information, software, hardware, and operating systems
* CONFIGURATION - Prepare and approve policies, standards and direction for system configuration
* SOFTWARE - Implement software on new and existing systems for department or individual use
* IMPLEMENTATION - Direct configuration and implementation of server and client side systems applications
* TESTING - Research and test leading edge systems technologies
* STANDARDIZATION - Oversee in the Hospitals hardware and software standardization efforts as appropriate and assigned
* COMMUNICATION - Communicate with technical and non-technical personnel on systems issues to understand and respond to user needs

Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis.

* Bachelor's Degree
Nonessential:
* Master's Degree
Education specialization:
Essential:
* HIM, Computer Science, IT or Radiologic
Nonessential:
* Health Informatics or Computer Science or Info Technology

Experience:
Essential:
2 years PACS, RIS, Health Care Imaging, Imaging Informatics or related IT field

Nonessential:
5 years PACS, RIS, Health Care Imaging, Imaging Informatics or related IT field

Credentials:
Essential:
* Certified Imaging Informatics Professional w/in 1 Year
Nonessential:
* ARRT (R) or NMTCB (CNMT) or ARDMS

Physical Conditions:
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
