The Opportunity

The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure earning senior lecturer and director for the Interdisciplinary Design (IDesign) program. The opportunity for summer supplementary salary is also available for the position.

The selected candidate for this position will lead an existing group of faculty and industry-professionals in the delivery of the CECS IDesign program. The IDesign program engages senior level engineering and computer science students in a culminating design experience just prior to graduation. The primary responsibilities for the program director are engagement of stakeholders and administration of the Interdisciplinary Design program. The IDesign program director will be expected to solicit, identify, and secure fully funded projects.

The anticipated starting date is August 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in engineering or computer science by the start of the appointment.

Ten or more (10+) years of experience in industry and/or capstone design.

Practical industrial and academic experience with demonstrated leadership and administrative capabilities.

Experience in successfully teaching capstone senior design in engineering and computer science courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

A history of working with teams, especially teams that span multiple disciplines.
