Job Summary
Performs
journeyman level work in the installation, maintenance, modification, overhaul,
service, and repair of University heating, ventilation, air conditioning,
refrigeration, and related systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years facility or commercial HVAC experience. Driver's License required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to obtain EPA Refrigeration Handling Certification required.
- Ability to operate personal computer with general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the internet.
- Skill in managing ones’ own time and the time of others.
- Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, University policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of construction maintenance, repair, and operation of light and heavy equipment, including vehicles.
- Skill in installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Skill in the operation, maintenance, and repair of applicable equipment and tools.
- Ability to perform maintenance, to follow instructions, and to interpret drawings and diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree or certificate in HVAC or related field of study and three years facility and/or commercial HVAC experience.
