Job Description
HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) COORDINATOR, Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), to act as first point of contact providing wide-ranging, responsive, and transparent support for the human resources function in a busy headquarters office. Will help to coordinate HR activities, including responding to inquiries, facilitating recruitment and onboarding, coordinating rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and compensation; and handle complex and diverse duties for multiple projects and programs.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in a related field; at least two years of human resources experience, preferably in an academic environment; general knowledge of the HR functions, including employment law, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and onboarding; strong Microsoft Office skills; meticulous attention to detail; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication (including spelling, punctuation, and grammar) skills; initiative; and tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information. Must be able to proactively anticipate issues and consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change; distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes both verbally and in writing; manage a high volume of work and variety of tasks concurrently; work independently under minimal supervision; remain flexible as situations demand; resolve problems in a thorough and timely manner; and anticipate and act on the needs of the direct managers and other stakeholders. PREFERRED: experience working with HR and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Brio, Kronos) and FileMaker Pro, and MIT experience or experience in higher education. Job #23726-6
